Who Are We?

We are a close knit team of 12 ladies based in Chorley, Lancashire. We all share a love of crafting, in particular knitting and sewing and together we have lots of experience and knowledge to share with you.

We want to encourage you to enjoy sewing and knitting by providing excellent quality products from our shop and providing you with opportunities to connect with like minded sewers & knitters, with our VIP Community and Sewing Subscription Boxes.

What do we do?

We bring you a fantastic selection of sewing & knitting products so that you can browse in the comfort of your own home here, as well as online courses and monthly subscription boxes.

We have large facebook & instagram communities and a knit it stitch it share it social support group which we would encourage you to join. Our large community of knitters & sewers offer support & education to each other on all things sewing & knitting.

If you don’t like ordering online, or need some help signing up, we offer a telephone ordering and enquiry service for just for you! 

Our customer service team; Donna, Lucy, Debra and Andrea are on hand to take your orders and answer any sewing/ knitting related queries Monday to Friday 9.30 – 4.30 so if you get stuck give us a call on 01257 276513.

Want to meet some of our team?

We host a facebook live “Material Girls” Video on facebook every Thursday at 12pm with Heather and Chloe where customers can ask questions about knitting, sewing & crafting. The ladies also showcase their latest projects.

Why Do We Do What We Do?

Following a 25 year career in Nursing, Andrea Started Always Knitting and sewing to provide lovely fabrics and wools at reasonable prices for all of your knitting and sewing projects. The benefits of having a hobby like knitting and sewing are widely recognised and are known to reduce stress and provide an improved sense of wellbeing.

After experiencing first hand during her career the lack of community support generally in life she decided to also start a community sewing & knitting support group on facebook which now has over 6000 members who share, inspire and educate each other.
